Why Do You Have Pain? It seems to me that many people look at pain as the cause of their physical problem. It isn't. Pain is only an indicator. It's your body's way of telling you that something is wrong and you'd better do something about it, sort of like a fire alarm. You wouldn't turn off a fire alarm without looking for a fire. So, why do we accept drugs as the only answer to our painful physical problems? Removing the pain does nothing to remove it's cause, it just muddles up the body's internal message system that tells you when something is wrong. If you stop taking your medication do your painful symptoms reoccur? Then the drug isn't "curing" your condition, it's just making it easier for you to ignore it. It seems to me that, as a culture, we have made the mistake of believing that the name of a condition is the cause of the condition. We think things like "I hurt because I have arthritis.", or acid reflux, or fibromyalgia. Putting a name to the pain can be somewhat reassuring, but giving it a label doesn't explain why you have it. Not everyone has the condition that your pain has been labeled with. Why do you? It seems to me that making a diagnosis and treating your symptoms should be only the first step in addressing your health concerns. From there we need to take an overall view of what has caused your body to develop the condition that you are suffering from. Our bodies are the most amazing self-healing, self-regulating entities imaginable. When they break down there is a reason. Addressing only the symptoms of disease and ignoring the actual causes of poor health merely sets the stage for a gradual decline in your overall well-being and the quality of your life. Holistic healthcare is the system that has been designed to take an overview of the root causes of disease and dysfunction, to integrate with diseasecare, and to help you to return to and preserve the true health that you should be enjoying. Why is this painful condition happening to you? Let's find out. Click Here To Return To Health Topics Page
