A New Perspective On Fibromyalgia

It seems to me that fibromyalgia is a challenging malady for everyone involved. Conventional medicine has been excruciatingly slow to accept its very existence and still is at a loss as to how to "cure" it. Fibromyalgia sufferers end up caught in a constant spiral of pain, physical therapy, discomfort, medications, disability, and life interruptions. Every member of the family is affected when Mom is hurting, and Mom is hurting a lot.

It seems to me that the key to the success that holistic healthcare has had in working with patients that have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia is that it addresses the multi-faceted causes of the condition. Correcting these causes presents the next challenge to the patient. For there is no pill, no therapy performed by someone else, that is going to cure fibromyalgia. Rather, it is a process of learning, accepting and changing that will eventually affect nearly every aspect of a patient's life. With holistic care their way of thinking will change. There will be a transformation of attitude that brings a new perspective regarding their body, how it works, and why. There will be the slow, reasonable, practical changes in nutrition, hydration, and exercise that come with the knowledge of what is right for them, individually, and why. This process varies with each individual, of course, but every patient that we have seen, who feels that they have recovered from fibromyalgia, has gone through it to some extent.

It seems to me that if you are truly ready to get off of the fibromyalgia merry-go-round, and enjoy your life again, a new perspective would be the place to start. It was my diagnosis of fybromialgia that initiated my career in holistic healthcare. My life and health have completely changed. Yours can too.
